# Your WhatsApp account and Meta

> What Meta charges for WhatsApp, and what to do if Meta limits your number.

Your WhatsApp number belongs to a WhatsApp account at Meta, the company that runs WhatsApp. Meta charges for some WhatsApp messages and checks how the number is used. The WhatsApp tab shows both.

## Paying Meta for WhatsApp

Meta charges WhatsApp's costs to the card or payment method on your WhatsApp account, not to Baza. What you pay Baza doesn't change.

* A reply from your assistant or your team to a customer who wrote to you is free, up to 1,000 a month for each number. Meta calls these service messages. The count starts again on the 1st of each month.
* Meta charges for replies after the free 1,000. The price depends on your customer's country.
* Messages you start yourself are always charged. These include template messages and campaigns sent from WhatsApp Manager (Meta's tool for your WhatsApp account).

The WhatsApp tab counts your **Free replies this month**, and warns you when only a few are left. Baza does the counting, so its number can differ a little from Meta's.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Without a valid payment method, Meta stops delivering replies after the free
> 1,000. It can also refuse to send even free replies, so customers write and
> hear nothing back. Press **Add a payment method** on the WhatsApp tab to add a
> card in WhatsApp Manager.

## If Meta restricts your number

The WhatsApp tab shows what Meta reports about your number:

| Row | What it means |
| - | - |
| **Account health** | Whether WhatsApp delivers your messages right now. |
| **Business verification** | Meta's check of your business. Verifying raises your limits. |
| **Messaging limit** | Conversations you start each day. Replies to customers aren't limited. |
| **Quality** | How customers have received your messages lately. |

When something needs you, a banner at the top says what it is, with a link to where you can fix it.

**Activity** lists what Meta reports about your account as it happens: reviews, limits and changes.

| Banner | What it means |
| - | - |
| Meta is still checking this number | Replies to customers still go out. |
| Add a payment method in Meta | Needed to start conversations and send more than 1,000 replies a month. See [Paying Meta for WhatsApp](#paying-meta-for-whatsapp). |
| WhatsApp is holding this number's messages until Meta's checks pass | Nothing is delivered until Meta finishes. Press **Open Meta settings** to see what it needs. |
| Meta plans to disable this WhatsApp account | Meta found a policy issue. You can ask Meta to review it first. |
| Meta disabled this WhatsApp account | It can't send or receive messages. You can ask Meta to review it. |

### Asking Meta to review it

**1. Open Business Support Home**

Press **Request a review** on the banner, or go to Meta's [Business Support
Home](https://business.facebook.com/business-support-home).

**2. Request a review**

Open the WhatsApp account and request a review. Explain that you're a real
business, that customers write to you first, and that your assistant only
answers them.

Meta usually answers within a few days. Until then, your assistant keeps answering on your other channels. Share your [chat page](https://docs.baza.chat/channels/chat-page.md) link with customers so they can still reach you.
