# Test and preview

> Chat with your assistant yourself, and see your chat as customers will.

See your assistant the way customers do, before any of them write. The test chat gives real answers, but nothing you type reaches a customer.

## Test chat

**Test assistant** sits beside your assistant's [**Configure**](https://baza.chat/dashboard/assistant), [**Knowledge**](https://baza.chat/dashboard/assistant?tab=knowledge) and [**Actions**](https://baza.chat/dashboard/assistant?tab=live-data) tabs. Ask what your customers ask, and it replies as your assistant.

* Replies use everything you've taught it so far, exactly as customers would get them. Each reply shows which sources it used.
* [Live information](https://docs.baza.chat/assistant/live-data.md) checks really ask your system.
* If it would pass the chat to your team, nobody is told. A test never hands over to anyone.
* Nothing is saved, and test chats never count as conversations.
* To start a new test chat, press the restart button beside the message box.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Each test reply uses credits, like a reply to a customer. A business can get
> up to 60 test replies a day. After that, try again tomorrow, or test from your
> [chat page](https://docs.baza.chat/channels/chat-page.md).

Only owners and admins can use the test chat.

## Previews

The [**Widget**](https://baza.chat/dashboard/channels?tab=widget) and [**Chat page**](https://baza.chat/dashboard/channels?tab=chat-page) tabs show a preview beside their settings. It shows them as visitors will see them, and changes as you type, before you save. Save when it looks right.

On the WhatsApp tab, the preview shows your business profile the way customers see it in WhatsApp. Until you connect a number, the test chat shows there instead.
